Terms of Service

Welcome to SafeSpora. By downloading, installing, or using the SafeSpora mobile application or any related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who Can Use SafeSpora

You must be at least 13 years old to use SafeSpora. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful. Users under 18 should use the Service with parental guidance.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at johnewoigbokhan@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Community Reports and User Content

SafeSpora is a community-powered platform. By submitting safety alerts, fuel prices, restaurant ratings, or any other content ("User Content"), you:

• Confirm the information is accurate and made in good faith
• Grant SafeSpora a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and use your User Content within the Service
• Understand that your reports are visible to other users in the relevant area

You must not submit false, misleading, defamatory, or malicious reports. Deliberate misuse — including filing false emergency alerts — may result in account suspension and may expose you to legal liability.

4. SOS and Emergency Features

The SafeSpora SOS feature is a community tool and is NOT a replacement for official emergency services. In any life-threatening emergency, always call 112 (Nigeria) or your local emergency number first. SafeSpora makes no warranty that an SOS alert will be received, acted upon, or result in a response by any person. Use of the SOS feature for non-emergencies is prohibited.

5. Location Data

The Service requires access to your device location to provide safety alerts and routing. You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings, though this will limit core functionality. We do not share your precise real-time location with other users without your explicit consent.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Submit false or fabricated safety alerts or price reports
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Use the Service to facilitate criminal activity
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or exploit the app or its APIs
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent a ban or manipulate community data
• Upload content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, or violates third-party rights

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. SafeSpora does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of community-submitted safety information. Always exercise your own judgement in situations involving personal safety. SafeSpora is not liable for any harm arising from reliance on information displayed in the app.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SafeSpora's liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or NGN 5,000, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, without notice, at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time — see the Delete Account page.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
